“I believe that decision fatigue isn't just an inconvenience—it's a biological problem that we can solve. My passion is providing people with the tools to maintain the same mental clarity at 4 PM that they had at 10 AM.”

— Dr. Shawn Watson, PhD

Highlights

Neuroscientist & Researcher: Over a decade of experience studying the mechanisms of the brain, specifically focusing on Alzheimer's and cognitive decline.

Peer-Reviewed Author: Lead author of the 2024 study in Frontiers in Nutrition regarding the efficacy of multi-nutrient supplements on decision fatigue.

Global Healthcare Influencer: Recognized as one of the "Top 10 Influencers in Healthcare under 40" (Singapore) and "Top 5 Entrepreneurs under 35" (Hong Kong).

Experience

Dr. Shawn Watson is a neuroscientist and entrepreneur dedicated to bridging the gap between complex brain science and practical human performance. After years of academic research into neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s, Dr. Watson experienced the cognitive toll of high-stakes decision-making firsthand. This led him to pivot his expertise toward solving Decision Fatigue—the biological breakdown of mental clarity that affects everyone from surgeons to CEOs.

As the founder of Numin (and previously Senescence Life Sciences), he leads the research and development of neuroprotective compounds. His work focuses on "glutamate clearance," a process that helps the brain refresh its cognitive capacity during intense periods of mental demand.

Beyond the lab, Dr. Watson is a frequent speaker on brain health and a board member of the Canada-ASEAN Business Council. He is also the co-host of the Decisions That Count podcast, where he deconstructs the science of choice for athletes, professionals, and parents.

Education

Dr. Watson earned his PhD in Neurophysiology from the University of Calgary, where his research focused on the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and brain aging. Prior to his doctorate, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, laying the foundational knowledge in cellular biology that informs his current work in multi-nutrient "fuel stacks" for cognitive performance.
